How to use the 511 system
Arizona's 511 system provides the following initial choices:
Press Star Key ("*") for Touch-Tone mode or say one of the following:
      Roads
      Transit
      Airport
      Tourism
      Quick Report
      Comment

A detailed description of each follows:

    Touch-Tone mode.
Pressing the Star Key ("*") permits you to interact using your telephone's keypad.
No voice commands are accepted while in touch-tone mode.
This may be of benefit if you are experiencing difficulties having the system understand your request.
You may press the Star Key again to return to voice recognition mode.
You may also press the Pound Key ("#") to skip to next message.
    Roads.
You may request any state-operated roadway.
For Interstates, the system will accept: Interstate, "I", or just the interstate number (e.g., Interstate 10, I-10, 10).
For United States Highways, the system will accept: US, Highway, or just the highway number (e.g., US-60, Highway 60, 60).
For State Routes, the system will accept: State Route, SR, or just the route number (e.g., State Route 77, SR-77, 77).
Some roadways are divided into segments.
The system will advise if the roadway you've requested is divided into segments.
You may choose any segment offered (e.g., 1, 2, etc.) or say nine ("9") for the entire roadway.
    Transit.
The transit menu is divided into five areas.
        Phoenix Valley Metro.
        Tucson SunTran
        Native American Transit
        Rural Areas North
        Rural Areas South
Each transit option will provide the choice of being transferred to the respective agency's system.
    Airport.
Your choices are Phoenix Sky Harbor and Tucson International Airport.
Each option offers some basic information and the ability to transfer to the respective airport.
    Tourism.
You can choose Arizona Office of Tourism or Grand Canyon National Park.
The Arizona Office of Tourism choice will transfer you to their live operators.
Grand Canyon National Park offers a short recording of information of travel in the park.
    Quick Report.
We offer six (6) Quick Reports.
Each Quick Report provides a snapshot of information that is new, much as you would hear on the radio.
The following Quick Reports are available (the first six are in the Phoenix area):
        Northwest Valley
        North Phoenix
        Northeast Valley
        East Valley
        Phoenix
        West Valley

        Tucson Region

Navigation tricks.

You can return to the Main Menu by saying, "Main Menu" at one of these times:
After hearing the name of the report about to be given (but before the first event is spoken)
During any of the short gaps between events.
    Touch-Tone.
You can skip the current event by pressing the Pound Key ("#").
For roads that contain segments (i.e., I-10, I-40, etc.), you can enter both the road and segment number at the same time. That is, instead of pressing "10" for I-10, then pressing "02" for segment two; you may press "1002".
    Quick Access.
You can begin giving your commands after the sixth word instead of waiting for the entire intro to play (the sixth word is "system"). This will not work; however, if a mandatory message is on the system, called a Floodgate, such as during an AMBER Alert.
While in speech recognition mode, you may also press a special sequence of codes to bypass all prompts and obtain a particular road report:
        The sequence is:
          Number 1 ("1")
          Road Number desired
          Two-digit Segment number (if applicable)
          Pound key ("#")
        Here are some examples:
You want Segment 3 of I-40, press 14003#
You want Full Report of I-10, press 11009#
You want SR-77 (which is not divided into segments), press 177#
